Delta Delta Delta is VERY involved on and off campus here at Texas A&M. These activities and organizations include: Young Life, 12th man student organization, Aggie Dance team, Fish Camp, Impact, Big Event, Breakaway, Muster Hostesses, Maroon Coats, Project Sunshine, Boys & Girls Club, Camp Ozark, Business Honors, Fish Aides, Upstream Freshman Bible Study, Kanakuk Summer Camp, Habitat for Humanity, and so much more!
Below our some of the highlights of our incredible involvement throughout 2016 - 2017!
The Big Event has become a tradition of selfless service at Texas A&M, as thousands of students come together for one day to say, "Thank you," through service for the support from the Bryan and College Station communities. Over 22,000 students participated in the Big Event this year, making Texas A&M the largest Big Event in the nation! 130 Tri Delts signed up for this incredible tradition. In addition to all our chapter members who volunteered, over 15 Tri Delts were staff assistants, committee members and group leaders. Organizations like The Big Event are one of the many reasons we are so proud to be Aggies. A HUGE congratulations to two of our juniors, Meagan Gilliland and Allie Ryan, for winning committee members of the year!
FISH CAMP COUNSELORS
Fish camp is all about helping freshman transition smoothly into their year of college at Texas A&M. It is a great preview to what you can expect for the next 4 years being a part of the incredible Aggie Family! Every year, a large number of Tri Delta's are chosen as fish camp counselors. The primary role of a camp counselor is to serve as a support system for freshmen and help them transition into college life. Each counselor leads a group of 10-15 fish called a Discussion Group and maintains connections with them throughout their first year and beyond! Counselors also perform informative and purposeful skits for the freshmen to help them better understand college life, A&M traditions, & campus services. These girls have a huge impact on their campers. 12 of our members were chosen to be counselors for the Summer of 2015 and we could not be more proud of them!
